Dalaska is a bustling market town located in the mountains of central Heron. It is the only part of Heron that is equally governed by representatives from all three noble estates. It is the place to go to procure goods from outside of Heron, and is easily the most diverse place in Heron. It is a common stop for travelers and foreigners, and is home to one of Heron’s largest Chaotic temples.
Dalaska Temple
The Chaotic temple in Dalaska is the largest landmark in the town, and is used for town meetings, festivals, and for shelter in times of emergency, or for those who cannot afford housing. It also houses several cultural artifacts, and is currently being used to recruit and train new pyromancers.
Services at the temple are held several times a week year round, and during the Festival of Chaos, small sermons are held on the hour, every hour, from dawn until midnight. The Dalaskan Temple of Chaos is considered fairly moderate amongst Heronites, and while it will accommodate the needs of most travelers looking to attend service and the vast majority of the locals, many Heronites of the more devout persuasion consider the Dalaskan temple too lax and liberal in their sermons and keeping of the traditions.
Dalaska Spring Lodge
The massive, luxurious Dalaska Spring Lodge is the estate where nobles and other world leaders stay when conducting business or taking vacation in Dalaska. Historically, it has been a site of diplomacy between the three noble families of Heron, and much less frequently, between Heronite Lords and the leaders or representatives of other countries. It is named for the hot springs located on the side of the mountain that the Lodge is built into, most of which are reserved exclusively for use by the nobles and their guests.
Though the Lodge was originally built several centuries ago, the upkeep on the building is thorough and several additions and remodels have occurred throughout the years in order to provide the high standard of living that most in the noble class are accustomed to. A large complement of workers and servants are employed at the Lodge, always at the ready in the event someone arrives on short notice.
