Storm Magic

Storm magic is a specialized discipline of Salican magic that draws on the power of peoples' emotions to invoke powerful effects on the elements. Modern practitioners of storm magic in the age are rare, but were known as some of the first Mariknights. Aside from Water Manipulation, the potency of each storm spell is dependent on the strength of the emotion drawn upon. This is considered a fringe discipline of magic because Salicans have always been split on the morality of weaponizing other peoples' emotions. However, many of Salica's most trusted mortals have been storm mages, including Mia Gold, the Champion of Salica, as well as the goddess' Adjutant, Kartal Marle.

Water Manipulation- A standard ability for all Mariknights, as well as the only one available to Sai’mul. Each Mariknight carries a hand-crafted container that is filled with water that reacts to the owner’s whims. The knowledge of this ability supposedly died with the last of the Mariknights, but since the revival of their fleet, Salican temples are studying this technique to share it with other Storm Mages.

Joyous Wings- The user invokes the joy of those around them to gain flight with the power of wind.

Fury of the Storm- The user invokes rage to strike an opponent with lightning

Fall of Sorrow- The user invokes sadness to bring rain.

Clouded Resolve- The storm mage invokes uncertainty to create a patch of fog.

Light’s Passion- The storm mage invokes passion to part clouds and intensify the sunlight. When used at night, the spell becomes less useful in combat, but can cause the moon to appear in more enticing, hypnotic colors for any nearby observers.

Whirling Terror- The storm mage invokes fear to unleash a violent whirlwind.

Tremor of Excitement- The storm mage invokes excitement to cause an earthquake.

Aura Phase- The storm mage begins to glow with their own emotional power. This allows the storm mage to control their magic freely by forcing themselves to feel what they need in order to cast the right spells. This state is both emotionally and physically draining.

Aura Bomb- A storm mage in Aura Phase can collect an entire lifetime worth of emotions and inflict them on someone else. This spell taxes all of the user's remaining energy, but confuses those it touches with a barrage of foreign emotions.
